In development · Undergrowth ecology strategy

Bloomward.

Guide one small patch of fertile land where ants, bees, wasps, plants, fungi, water, and soil create a world of their own.

A vast world under one leaf

Everything small
is connected.

Bloomward is set at ground level inside a limited patch of undergrowth. Ants carry seeds and reshape soil. Bees pollinate flowers. Wasps help hold other insect populations in balance. Worms and fungi turn fallen material into nutrients. Water, shade, roots, shelter, and the seasons change what can thrive.

The player’s challenge is to understand these relationships and help the whole patch remain resilient. Supporting one species can create food, shelter, or pressure somewhere else; no creature exists in isolation.

OBSERVE

Look closer.

Follow trails, pollination, feeding, decomposition, moisture, and plant growth to learn what each species contributes.

SHAPE

Change conditions carefully.

Guide water, preserve nesting material, encourage the right plants, and create connected shelter without solving one problem by causing another.

ADAPT

Live through change.

Respond to heat, rain, seasonal bloom cycles, food shortages, population swings, and disturbances across the tiny habitat.

Planned learning opportunities

Ecology as a system
you can actually see.

Bloomward can make food webs, pollination, decomposition, soil health, water cycles, habitat, carrying capacity, and population balance visible through play. The strongest solution should come from observing relationships rather than collecting more of one resource.

Bloomward is an early game concept. Its exact rules, species roster, viewpoint, platforms, business model, and release timing will change as the simulation is prototyped and reviewed.
